Is Moving One Of The Most Stressful Time Periods?

So, one of the things that you hear often about moving is that it is extremely stressful but is this really the case?  The short answer is, it depends.  Moving doesn’t have to be very stressful at all, and everything is riding on your individual approach to the process as well as what this move means to you personally.

Sometimes a move is not a very meaningful transaction.  You’re moving across the street, or you’ve already moved several times that year and one more is not going to phase you.  Half of your belongings are already packaged up and you understand that your life is in a state of flux at the moment: a move like this isn’t going to cause you a problem.

But the other side of the coin is a move that has been in the cards for years, and is finally happening, a move that takes you away from your family home, or uproots you and several other family members.  Something like that is going to naturally cause you a great deal of stress, not just in terms of anxiety about your new life, but regarding the logistics of how you are going to accomplish it.

If you have a lot of stuff to move, feel disorganized, and the day keeps getting closer, you may want to consider getting some professional help.  The moving industry is changing to better help clients, and it could be the right time to take advantage.
